Colour, perhaps more so than drawing, has a liberating effect.<\/p>\n

<\/em>This was the opinion of Henri Émile Matisse, the most famous exponent of Fauvism, the artistic movement that earned its fame through colour. According to the fauvists, a painting had to consist exclusively of colour: its choice<\/strong> had to be rooted within the depths of the soul, of which is reflected the various emotional states<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

After all, this has always been the case: colours have a big impact on our emotions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Walking into a dark-painted room when we’re feeling upbeat tends to oppress us and sometimes even influences our mood negatively. Likewise, when we’re feeling very tense and are in a room where red predominates, our anxiety and irritability will be heightened.<\/p>\n

Colour can also become<\/strong> an instrument that helps<\/strong> – at least symbolically and psychologically – to lift our spirits<\/strong> in the wake of life’s hardships.<\/p>\n

That’s why we have decided to dedicate one of our first products for 2021 to the new colour trends for walls<\/strong>. We need fresh stimuli for a new future, but we also need to rediscover our certainties to lay the platform for a new start.<\/p>\n

<\/strong>Pantone<\/strong>, the most authoritative entity when it comes to colours<\/strong>, has proposed two colours for 2021<\/strong> that, despite being independent, can be used together to mutually enhance one another, namely “Illuminating”<\/strong> yellow<\/strong> (13-0647) and “Ultimate Gray” <\/strong>(17-5104).<\/p>\n

Symbolically, these two colours convey two different ideas but that can be regarded as complementary:<\/p>\n

• “Ultimate Gray”<\/strong> is a medium grey shade that embodies solidity, certainty and neutrality<\/strong>. We can imagine it as a neutral tablet on which we can choose what to write and how.<\/p>\n
